Plan Your Refrigeration Trailer Rental

A good refrigerated trailer rental or refrigerated container rental starts with a plan for the site. This guide covers an emergency swap and a planned renovation, short-term rentals and long-term leases, and it helps hospitals, restaurants, schools, grocers, and distributors get cold storage running quickly. We coordinate delivery and setup with you. When you are ready, call 24/7 or request availability and a quote.

Five decisions before the truck arrives

Five decisions

  1. Step 1

    Define the need

Write down what failed, what temperature your product needs, how much product you have, and how long you expect to need cold storage. These four facts decide the unit.

  2. Step 2

    Choose the spot

Find a firm, level place close to the kitchen or dock, with room for the trailer and its door to open. Check overhead lines, soft ground, and slopes. A trailer should not block fire lanes or emergency access.

  3. Step 3

    Connect the power

The 20 ft trailers list 220V, single phase, 40 to 60 amps, with a NEMA plug. Have an electrician confirm the circuit before delivery so the unit can start cooling right away.

  4. Step 4

    Plan the daily routine

Decide who loads, how product moves from the kitchen, and how doors stay closed. A short, safe path with a ramp or stairs saves time every shift.

  5. Step 5

    Review the proposal

Check the unit, the rental length, delivery, setup, servicing, and minimum terms in writing. An inquiry does not reserve equipment, so confirm the quote before you plan around a date.

Short-term rental or long-term lease

A short-term rental covers an emergency: a compressor failure, a power loss, or a repair that takes days. A long-term lease covers a renovation, a construction project, or a seasonal peak that runs for months. Our price sheet prints separate rates for 1-6 days, 8-14 days, 15 days to 1 month, and more than 3 months. See rental prices.

Setup on site takes about 1 hour for a refrigeration unit. Add 4 to 6 hours if a ramp is needed, or 5 to 15 minutes for stairs. Kitchens and dishwashing trailers take about 5 hours.

Planning questions

How much room does a refrigerated trailer need?

A 12 ft or 20 ft trailer needs a level, firm spot with room for the trailer and its door to swing open, plus access for the delivery truck. Send us the surface type and any gate or door widths and we will confirm fit.

Who connects the power?

A qualified electrician should confirm and connect power at your site. We tell you the unit's electrical requirement so your electrician can plan ahead of delivery.

Do I need a ramp or stairs?

If the door sits above grade, a ramp or stairs makes loading safer. Setup time adds 4 to 6 hours for a ramp and 5 to 15 minutes for stairs.

Can the unit go on grass or gravel?

A firm, level surface is best. Tell us the surface and recent weather, and we will advise on placement.
